Your trips stay on your device
Every trip you make — the place, the dates, your plans, the basics you checked off, and the plan we build — is saved in the storage of the phone or browser you made it on. We do not keep a copy. If you delete the app or clear your browser data, those trips are gone, and we cannot get them back for you.
What we send, and when
Nothing leaves your device until you ask for something:
- Searching for a place
What you type goes to our server, which asks a public geocoding service for matching cities. - Checking the weather
The coordinates and dates of your trip go to our server, which asks a public weather service for the forecast. - Building a plan
The trip details you entered — destination, dates, your events, the basics you own, your preferences and any notes — go to our server and on to an AI service, which writes the plan and sends it back. - Item pictures
The name of each piece in your plan, such as “black ankle boots”, goes to our server, which has an image service draw an example photograph and stores it so the next person asking for the same piece does not pay for it again. These pictures are generated, not real products, and they are not tied to you or your trip.
What we do not do
There is nothing to log in to, and nothing about you is kept on our side. No advertising. No analytics, no tracking pixels and no third-party trackers. We do not sell anything about you, because we do not hold anything about you. We do not ask for photos of your wardrobe.
Children
Sanderling is made for adults planning their own trips. It is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect anything from them.
